Happy New Year! My name is Laurie Haus, and I am the chair of the Education Advisory Council for the United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley. My husband, two daughters and I enjoy living in the Chippewa Valley. The bike trails, restaurants, theaters, and parks are a few of our favorite places. My professional role is an Academics & Literacy Coordinator for the Eau Claire Area School District. Putting high-quality books and learning materials in the hands of children (and their teachers) is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. As an educator I believe the ability to read and interact positively with others opens wide possibilities for children. Equal parts healthy living, social emotional skills, along with early literacy and math skills are sure to set children up for success in our community and beyond. I chose to invest my time and give to the United Way because it is an investment in the community my family loves. The Education Council members and I thank you for partnering with us to bring excellent early education opportunities to our youngest community members.
