Hello! My name is Amanda Obenhoffer and I am grateful to have the opportunity to introduce myself as the new Director of Marketing and Communications here at United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley. It seems I’ve joined the team during peak busy season which has allowed me the opportunity to feel like a major asset right out of the gates. I’m thankful to be able to share my skills and talents with such a deserving community. I’ve met a few of you so far, and everyone has been so welcoming, thank you for that! I look forward to meeting more of you and learning about your stories.

And if you want to learn a little bit about me, this is the part where you keep reading. I grew up on a dairy farm in De Pere, WI, which is a place I still visit frequently. This is where I learned about work ethic, the circle of life, how to be flexible, compassionate, empathetic, and adapt quickly. I transferred from UW-Parkside in 2002, to UW-Eau Claire to start my journey as a Blugold. That student journey, post-graduation, transformed into the better part of my early professional career working a as graphic artist and student mentor in Marketing and Communications, with a focus in event promotion. Many great takeaways from my time there, and as they say, Once a Blugold, Always a Blugold!

My family is made up of my husband Dustin, our two young boys August (age 8) and Flynn (age 5), and our dog Rigby (age 9-Beagle mix). We live a little south of Eau Claire in a quite country neighborhood, it’s peaceful and such a privilege to call home.

Collectively as a family, we are very active in the Putnam Heights Cub Scout Pack 133. I recently ended my first year as a Den Leader, which was a rewarding experience. I’m also currently working on earning my Wood Badge, hoping to wrap those tickets up in the coming months. If you know, you know. And if you want to know more, ask me and I’ll be sure to get you info on how you can begin your Wood Badge journey. #ShamelessPlug

I’ve been known to tote my teal Tupperware filled with home baked goodies to work and other social events. The mad baking skills also definitely originated from my days on the farm spent with my Grandmother in the kitchen, such good memories. #SharingIsCaring

I love spending time outdoors with friends and family, soaking up all of the calm that nature provides, and occasionally imbibing in a chilled dark fermented beverage. Cheers to new beginnings and bringing all I can to support the
mission of UWGCV.

With warmest regards,

Amanda Obenhoffer
Director of Marketing and Communications

United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley (UWGCV) was recently awarded a Non-Profit Access Grant from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) to launch a digital equity and inclusion program in partnership with Eau Claire County. The new program will have four priorities.

• Broadband internet connectivity
• Computer device access
• Digital literacy training
• Technical support

The grant will allow UWGCV to hire a full-time program director to coordinate partners and leverage resources. UWGCV hopes to expand the reach of the program in the region as time and resources allow.

Be sure to head up to the Leinie Lodge to enter the drawing to win this Leinie's Edition ATV. $10 per entry. Final drawing will be held August 18.

All proceeds go to benefit UWGCV!
