November 22, 2022 Newsletter

This month we're thankful for many things, and new interns is one of them. We'd like to welcome Blake Ruff to the team!

Hello everyone! First and foremost, my name is Blake Ruff and I recently stepped into the role as Resource Development and Events Intern here at United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley! I am so extremely honored to be given the opportunity to pursue my passion for helping others and building stronger relationships in this great community. With this position, I am responsible for sponsorships, campaign efforts, and helping plan and execute the many UWGCV events.

To give you a little more background about myself, I am from Bloomer, WI and am currently in my junior year at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I am majoring in Management, minoring in Marketing, and obtaining a certificate in Advanced Business Communications. At UWEC, I am actively involved in the Blugold Sales Team and Pi-Sigma Epsilon – Zeta Epsilon which are amazing campus organizations that have opened so many doors into the business world.

Outside of the school and work world, I love to be outdoors and staying active. I have a passion for watersports, and spending as much time out on the boat as possible during the warmer months with friends and family. But when the water freezes, I break out the downhill skies and hit the slopes! I’m a lover of a good joke, country music festivals and concerts, a great iced coffee (yes, iced all year long!), and spending as much time as I can with my friends and family.

I’m not new to the role of being the intern, as this will be my third internship of my college career. I have previous internship experience working for The Boutique Hub as the Event Operations Intern and Catalytic Combustion Corporation as the Operations Management Intern and couldn’t be more excited to put the skills that I have gained from these opportunities into practice here at UWGCV. United Way is a great organization that puts people and organizations first, and has a strong mission for success, which are the reasons I jumped at joining the organization and team of powerhouses.

Again, I am so incredibly thankful to join the work that UWGCV does for this community and to get to work with you, who are the muscle behind strengthening the Chippewa Valley. Together we will strive for a better future! I cannot wait to meet many of you soon, but please do not hesitate to reach out!
