Hello Everyone!

My name is Amber Scharenbroch, and I just recently stepped into the Community Impact Director—Digital Equity role here at United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley. I am very honored to be able to pursue my passions for philanthropy and serving others here at UWGCV. I truly take this role to heart as a way I can work towards building stronger Chippewa Valley communities hour by hour, step by step.

To tell you a little more about myself, I’m originally from Kimberly, WI, which is a village near Appleton. My entire extended family lives within a 20-mile radius, and we’re very close, so I enjoy returning home to visit. I moved to Eau Claire about three years ago to attend college at UW-Eau Claire. My time as a student was a whirlwind of excitement, growth, and discovery. Looking back, I invested 3x more time into UWEC and Eau Claire communities than I did in classes themselves. I owe a lot of professional development and life lessons to my videography, volunteer coordination, project management, collaboration and event planning roles within UWEC’s Jazz Studies Area and Eau Claire Jazz, Inc. I fell in love with the area and its people so much that I decided to stick around after graduating!!!

I spend lots of time outside and on adventures. Kenny (my boyfriend) and I start every day on our porch with coffee and book in hand — which fuels our reading and visiting the library addiction. We are always looking for recommendations, so if you have any, send them our way! I also really enjoy hiking, disc golfing and downhill skiing with friends and family. A day spent in the great outdoors with those I love is a day spent well. I believe in being a lifelong learner and hope to always invest in new hobbies, ideas and ways to make myself a better neighbor to those around me.

As my first full-time job post-college,

I have lots of learning to do, but I’m fueled up and ready to use my skills to expand Digital Equity within the Chippewa Valley! I’m beyond thankful to join the work UWGCV does and for all of you who are key puzzle pieces in uniting and strengthening the Chippewa Valley community. I hope to meet many of you soon, but please do not hesitate to reach out and introduce yourself to me!
